Cross Country with Northern District LAC

We are invited to race with our friends at Foxglove Oval. You are encouraged to wear something to represent HDLAC but this doesn’t have to be your centre uniform.
Please arrive at 3:15pm to register and familiarise yourself with the course. Details and course times are here:


4:00pm: 2000m (U11s & U12s) and 3000m (U13s to U17s & open);
4:25pm: 500m (U6s, including Tiny Tots);
4:35pm: 800m (U7s & U8s) and 1500m (U9s & U10s).


HDLAC Cross Country

HDLAC Cross Country: Sunday 23rd June.  3pm meet for a group warm up and course walk.  3:30pm start for all ages.  All are welcome – registered and non-registered runners plus parents.  Age recommendation is U9 and older, but younger children are welcome to participate in the 500m course.

Location:Meet at the trail entrance as per map below.

Toilets: There are toilets at the carpark as indicated on the map, but no closer toilets to the trail, so keep this in mind upon arrival.

Parking: Off-road parking is available at the trail entrance, or in the various car parks (depending on other sports on at the same time, this can be busy so leave plenty of time to arrive.)

Course and Distance:

<U9 – there is a 500m forest trail lap for younger children.

U9-U10: Distance 2km.  Course is one 500m forest trail loop, followed by 750m out and back (1.5km total) along the fire trail.

U11+ Distance 3km.  Course is two 500m forest trail loops, followed by 1km out and back (2km total) along the fire trail.

The terrain is bumpy, potentially boggy, and has lots of hazards.  Athletes need to adjust their pace and running to cater for this and run with care.  This is cross country.  The course is mostly flat, but has a small incline over the final 1km of each course and pacing is important.

Marshall’s will be at all key directional points.  Markers will be visible along the course and a sweeper will run at the rear of the group to assist anyone struggling.  Radios will be used to communicate between the starter and marshal’s in case any assistance is required.

Athletics New South Wales

Teams will be entered for Cross County Relays and Street Relays in U12+ age categories, and a fun run is also available at both events.

XC Relays: Saturday 25th May; Miranda Park, 639 Kingsway, Miranda
The event is held over the undulating hills at Miranda park and is suitable for all ages and abilities. Waratah Series XC Relays is not only a team based event, it also caters for individual participators as well, offering distances of 2-4km.

On top of this, the event will play host to on the day activation’s, food and drink stalls, captivating race callers as well as entertaining music.

Fun Run (2km) – all ages
U12 & U14: 4x2km
U16 & U18: 4x3km

LANSW State Cross Country

Saturday, 3 August 2019 at Upjohn Park, Rydalmere

Entry will be available to registered athletes in the U7 to U17 age groups.
Entries close at 9am on Wednesday, 24 July and will be completed online via Athletics NSW website.
