{"id":125,"date":"2019-08-28T10:57:20","date_gmt":"2019-08-28T10:57:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/centrewebsiteadmin.resultshq.com.au\/randwickbotany\/?page_id=125"},"modified":"2022-08-18T23:02:53","modified_gmt":"2022-08-18T23:02:53","slug":"state-championship","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/centrewebsiteadmin.resultshq.com.au\/randwickbotany\/state-championship\/","title":{"rendered":"State Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Saturday, 18 &amp; Sunday, 19 March 2023 (TBC)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>McDonalds State Championships<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Sydney Olympic Athletics Centre<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The McDonalds State Track &amp; Field Championships are the culmination of the track &amp; field competition season.\u00a0 The event takes place each Year in March at SOPAC (Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre). Athletes in the age groups U9 through to U17 progress through to this event after qualifying from their Regional Championships.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st placed relay teams from each of the 8 Regions automatically progress to the State Champs. They <strong><u>are not included <\/u><\/strong>in the qualifiers by centre above, but will be in the finalised full program.<\/li>\n<li>The State Track &amp; Field Championships will have <u>up to 24<\/u> competitors in every individual event.<\/li>\n<li>The 24 competitors have been determined as follows:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Automatic Qualifiers\u00a0(up to 16 competitors across the\u00a0eight Regions)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First and second place from each of the eight Regions (see Note 1 below regarding qualifying times\/performances)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional Performance Based Qualifiers<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to\u00a0eight additional competitors from across all Regions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To determine the additional performance based qualifiers, all athletes (from finals) after the automatic qualifiers, across all Regions, will be\u00a0collated and the best\u00a0eight determined. Where there were equal performances for the 8th\u00a0position,\u00a0<u>all athletes on that equal performance <strong>will be\u00a0excluded<\/strong>\u00a0<\/u>(ie. Some events may have less than\u00a0eight additional competitors).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note 1<\/strong>: There are qualifying standards for the 1500m Walk; the 3000m run (as per Rules of Competition, Section D) and for High Jump (athletes must have cleared the State Championships starting height for their relevant age group, at their Region Championships to progress. The starting heights can be found in the Rules of Competition.
