Qualifying athletes list can be found here, follow the links for 9-12’s and 13’s+
The State Track & Field Championships are the culmination of the track & field competition season. The championships will be held at SOPAC (Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre).
Junior Championships will be held on 13th-16th March for ages 13’s-U20
LANSW Hart Sport State Championships will be held on 22nd-23rd March for ages 9’s-12’s
As with Zone and Region, we need parent helpers to assist the officials and you are a vital component to the success of the event.
REGISTRATION
Parents/athletes must register their athlete to accept their position at the State Champs (ages 9’s – 15’s). If positions are not accepted other athletes will be offered places and athletes who qualified will miss out.
Athletes aged above 16 must also register via the direct entry pathway
PAYMENT – 2024/25 season only
Ryde Athletics has a proud history of supporting our athletes who attend State Champs and we acknowledge that this year with the partnership of LANSW and ANSW that the process for registering for State has altered. As a result of the merge parents/athletes were charged an admission fee when accepting athlete nominations for State.
Due to these changes the Ryde Athletics committee will issue discount codes to the value of State entry for athletes that qualify and compete and are aged 9-15.
For athletes aged 16 or 17, the discount code will be capped at $70 and contingent on the athlete competing at State.
The discount codes will be issued automatically, thanks to our registrar, in preparation for next season. They will be distributed to eligible families via email in the weeks following the State Championships.
For those that would prefer to be reimbursed rather than receive a discount code, please complete this form, noting that the cut off date will be strictly adhered to.
SAFETY
Helpers are reminded that for safety reasons you should wear enclosed shoes, not thongs or loose sandals, especially on throws events. If anyone turns up without closed in shoes, they will still be required to assist, but will be moved to another area.
SUNSAFE
Helpers are also reminded to be ‘sun safe’. They should set an example to the athletes by wearing appropriate clothing and hats, regularly applying sunscreen and hydrating.
Please check the timetable of events now as event day, order and times differ from the Zone and Region timetables.
Please also be aware that no announcements for events are called at these championships. It is a timed program with call room and event start times – athletes need to be aware of call room times and arrive at the appropriate marshalling tent at, or before, the call room time.
Also note, some events are conducted on the warm-up track, adjacent to the main track; these events are designated with a “W” on the event number in the program.
